Chelsea and Nigeria midfielder, John Mikel Obi says he is not sure of when his first start for the club will come this season.
Mikel Obi missed pre-season training for Chelsea as he was in Brazil with the Nigeria U-23s for the Olympic Games and is yet to start a game for his club since then.
“Whatever the situation is, I try to keep myself fit and the truth is I do not know when I will start a game for Chelsea,” Mikel said.
However, in spite of his inactivity at Chelsea, he posts top drawer performances with the Eagles.
“The truth is that I do things right. I work very hard and I live right to prolong my career. Anytime I come here I love to express myself too.”
The rumour mills suggest a move away from Chelsea in January to either of Marseilles or Inter Milan, something Mikel does not deny or agree with.
“I don’t know. I will see what happens,” he said.
“My situation is what it is and we will just have to wait and see.
“I’ve been in the club for eleven years. It is my home and where I have played my entire football career but we will have to wait and see what happens in January.”
