The 2015/16 Nigeria Professional Football League just rounded up but the agents and managers have wasted no time as the transfer rumour season has opened up immediately.
Naijafootball247.com sources brings to you the latest transfer rumours from the last week.
Abdul Maikaba to Kano Pillars
Erstwhile Wikki Tourist coach, Abdu Maikaba reportedly resigned his appointment with the Bauchi based side last week after finishing 3rd on the table.
Wikki Tourist would play in the CAF Confederation Cup next year but after leaving the side, Naijafootball247.com sources spill out that Maikaba is currently in advanced talks to join up with Kano Pillars.
Baba Ganaru to Wikki Tourists
Meanwhile, Kano Pillars coach, Baba Ganaru quit his side on the last day of the league and it seems he will be trading places with Maikaba to join up with Wikki Tourists.
Paul Aigbogun to Akwa United
Paul Aigbogun has not had a moments rest since he joined Enyimba.
He led the team to their worst league finish in 16 years but on the continent he at least took them the group phase of the CAF Champions League, the best outing by a Nigerian club in half a decade, yet the fans have turned against him.
It seems his last two games for the club would be the Federation Cup semifinal and final, if they make it through.
Not taking chances, he has reportedly held discussions with Akwa United as a Naijafootball247.com source sighted him in Uyo recently.
Imama to Chippa United, Rivers United
The biggest coaching name in Nigerian football since Kadiri Ikhana won the CAF Champions League with Enyimba in 2003 has to be Imama Amakapabo.
After winning the League with Rangers, their first in 32 years, it seems he will be on his way out as he does not even have a contract with the Enugu based side.
The rumour mills say Kano Pillars, Akwa United and even Chippa United in South Africa.
But the biggest of them all happened two days ago when the governor of Rivers State, Barrister Nyesom Wike in a public dinner stated that he will get Imama for Rivers United whenever he wants.
According to Wike, referring to a statement made by the governor of Enugu State, Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi that Imama Amapakabor is not for sale, “You cannot buy what already belongs to you. I told the governor to enjoy the services of a son of Rivers State but we will take him back whenever we want.”
Stephen Odey to Rangers
Stephen Odey of MFM FC may just be on the books of Enugu Rangers next season.
A close friend of the young player told Naijafootball247.com that Odey so much wants to play under Imama Amapakabor’s tutelage at Rangers and is waiting for the league champions to make a move for him.
Fred Obomate to Rangers
Rivers United’s dynamic play maker, Frederic Obomate is on the shopping list of league champions, Enugu Rangers.
Obomate played under current Rangers coach, Imama Amapakabor when he was an assistant coach at Sharks and may want to re-unite with his former boss since Rangers also affords him a chance to play in the CAF Champions League.
However, the only snag may be his education as Obomate is a Civil Engineering Student at the Rivers State University of Science and Technology.
Christian Pyagbara to Rivers United
Enyimba’s attacker, Christian Pyagbara may make a return to Port Harcourt after the Federation Cup run with his side.
Pyagbara has only played for Sharks and Dolphins in his professional career and is a favourite of Rivers United head coach, Stanley Eguma.
