Super Eagles coach, Gernot Rohr says the game against Tanzania is very important to him and his charges.
He told Naijafootball247.com that it is a test match before the World Cup Qualifiers start in a month.
“It is a test match and I need to see how they play, how they fight. Today was a little training and it was interesting. I have seen how the public here honour the players and it was good to see. I have also seen the young players and I am impressed,” the German said.
He however added that he was disappointed he could not see all his players in Wednesday’s practice match against Akwa United in Uyo.
The Eagles won the game 3-0 with goals from Brown Ideye, Nosa Igiebor and Odion Ighalo but the coach insists that it would have been better if he had more time.
“I divided my team into two and made wholesale changes in the second half but you know three players are not here yet so I did not get a chance to see them all.
“I wanted to see all the players because we do not know them so well and that’s why I needed each player to play for forty five minutes,” Rohr said.
