Twenty teams set for Brown Ideye Challenge

Twenty teams will be in the pot for the draws of the 1st edition of the Brown Ideye Challenge on Monday, May 2, 2016.

The competition which was initially scheduled to have 16 teams, drawn into 4 groups of four will now have 20 teams drawn into 4 groups of five.

The change follows pressure on the sponsor, Brown Ideye and members of the Main Organising Committee, MOC, to expand the number of teams in the competition.

The draws will take place at the Veroz Restaurant, opposite Beverly Hills Hotel, Woji road GRA Port Harcourt by 2pm.

According to a statement made available to Naijafootball247.com by the chairman of the Publicity subcommittee, Carl Orakwue, “It is mandatory for participating teams to have at least a representative but not more than two at the draws.”

A short briefing and lecture as regards rules and developments concerning the tournament will be delivered at the draws.

The tournament is scheduled to kick off on Wednesday the 4th of May.
