MFM hold Rangers as Abia Warriors continue unbeaten run

Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministries Football Club came from a goal down to secure a one all draw against Enugu Rangers Football Club in Wednesday’s Nigeria Professional Football League match in Lagos.

The Agege Stadium witnessed yet another entertaining and interesting match that saw MFM FC recording their third draw of the season as they stretched their unbeaten run in the topflight to three after a 1-1 draw against the Imama Amakpakabo tutored side.

The Flying Antelopes settled into the game and netted the first goal of the match in the 37th minute with Obinna Nwobodo slotting home the opener. The first 45 minutes of the match ended with the visitors taken a one-goal lead.

The second half began with the home side searching for the equaliser, Onuwa Chukwuka and Ifeanyi Ifeanyi asserted their authority in the midfield as they forced the visitors to their defensive half.

In his bid to get an equaliser, Coach Ilechukwu substituted off form striker, Newman Musa for Austine Ogunye in the 57th minute of the game. Second choice goalkeeper, Abayomi Folarin suffered a groin injury and was replaced by Egbe Ospino who was making his debut for MFM FC 8 minutes after the first substitution, he completed the substitution by introducing hardworking midfielder, Shola Brossa for Oladele Oshobe who also picked up a knock in the 70th minute.
MFM fC's  Stephen Odey who was a thorn in the flesh of Rangers defence drew the host  level with a fine volley in the 72nd minute.

FC Ifeanyi Ubah crush Plateau Utd

Goals Seka Pascal and Tamen Medrano in both half were all what FC Ifeanyi Ubah needed to dismantle Plateau United in Nnewi.

The newly crowned Anambra FA Cup winners were a delight as they came out of the blocks as early as 7mins when Kofi Nti shot was deflected into touch for the first corner of the game.

The high tempo match produced the opener in the 18th minute via a penalty kick after Bright Onyedikachi was pulled down in the box.
Seka Pascal coolly tucked in the kick, sending the goalkeeper the wrong way.
Substitute Tamen Medrano sealed victory for FC Ifeanyi Ubah on the dot of regulation time as his shot from 30 yards went past Okam Okuji in goal for Plateau United.

Okonkwo shoots down El Kanemi in Port Harcourt

Chukwunonso Okonkwo struck in the 66th minute to fire Rivers United past a resolute El-Kanemi Warriors side 1-0 in an exciting game in Port Harcourt.

The forward rounded off a flowing team move that saw youngster, Daniel Israel provide the decisive pass as United won successive games in the NPFL for the first

United’s technical manager, Stanley Eguma while admitting that his side played well, refused to get carried away with the performance which guaranteed all three points.

“Nobody is getting carried away here. We have achieved nothing and will continue to work hard.

“The league is a marathon and not a sprint…….we still have 28 more games to play.

“There is still room for improvement but we will get there eventually,” Eguma said in response to a questioned posed to him at the post match press conference by Rivers United Media.

El-Kanemi’s coach, Ladan Bosso praised United for their win while identifying ‘technical problems’ for his side’s defeat.

“Generally, it was a good game. Congratulations to Rivers United.

“(The goal they scored) was from a slim chance but they got it right.

“I know the problems of my team. They are purely technical…we will go back (home) and work on them,” Bosso said.

Shooting Stars and Giwa FC defeated visiting Ikorodu United and Kano Pillars 2-0 respectively.

Sunday Adetunji grabbed a brace for 3SC to see off Ikorodu United in Ibadan.
An own goal in the 72nd minute and a 22nd minute goal by Aminu Mbai combined for hosts Giwa to down Pillars at the Rwang Pam Stadium in Jos.

Lobi Stars were held to a 1-1 draw by Wikki Tourists and hosts Tornadoes forced Sunshine Stars to a 2-2 draw.

Abia Warriors continued their unbeaten run defeating Akwa United 2-1 in Uyo.
