The Nigerian Professional Football League is here and the new season promises to be filled with excitements and lot of surprises.

Here's a list of the top five players to watch according to league experts, China "the ikwerreman" Acheru, Emeka Dennar, Fisayo Dairo, Sanipe "The Voice" and Ikechukwu Chukwu.

5. Stanley Dingba (Sunshine Stars): the diminutive winger is simply exciting to watch, he's fast skillful and is both footed, despite his size he's strong on and off the ball and he's never been fitter and sharper. He continues to be a more efficient player. The former Warri Wolves boy just crossed over to Sunshine Stars and will surely wow fans with his all action style.

4. Prince Aggrey (Kano Pillars): The Striper as he's sometimes called is One of the

most hard-to-define players in recent memory. He continues to be unerringly effective for both club and country. Prince is brilliant on the ball and exciting to watch. Known for his goals at Sunshine Stars, it is expected that the passionate Kano fans will get a taste of his prowess.

3. Tunde Adeniyi (Sunshine Stars): Last season was his test season and all eyes would be on him to prove himself if truly he's the star he thinks he is. He's fast, dangerous at hold up play, an impact player and very strong off and on the ball.

2. Ubong Ekpai (Akwa United): it’s no surprise this man is number 2 on the list. Formerly of Kano Pillars now back to Akwa United, he's already showing signs this season, going by his performance at the super four and in the CAF Confederation Cup.
He is fast, cool in front of goal enterprising young and very daring.

1. Christian Pyagbara (Enyimba): Pyagbara is no stranger to the Nigerian league playing for both Sharks and Dolphins and now presently with Enyimba.

There's no player that has been more tipped to succeed than him as all our analysts picked him in their top five. He's been consistent for the past three season-strong, skillful, highly technically gifted and scores a fair share of goals.
Now at Enyimba, surrounded by great talents and quality, he'll be unstoppable.

Other players who missed out narrowly are Chima Akas (Akwa united), Gambo Mohammed, Esosa Igbenoba (Kano Pillars), Ifeanyi Matthew (Kano Pillars) and of course veteran Chinedu Udoji(Enyimba).
