Former Super Eagles assistant coach, Daniel Amokachi has been appointed as head coach of Finland’s second division side JS Hercules on a one year deal.

An official statement from the club read: "Hercules has signed an agreement with former Nigerian national team player and coach Daniel Amokachi."

Amokachi went on to confirm his arrival in Finland via his personal twitter handle.

He will resume immediately and expectations will be that he leads the Oulu based outfit to the Finnish top flight following their recent promotion to the second tier.

The former Everton forward had previously held the helms at Nasarawa United, Enyimba and FC Ifeanyi Uba, but this will be his first coaching role outside the shores of Nigeria, and he will bank on his over six year’s experience as assistant to former Super Eagles coaches such as Shuaibu Amodu, Lars Lagerback and Stephen Keshi.
