West Brom deal excites Ideye

Super Eagles attacker, Brown Ideye says he is still in shock after completing a record ten million pounds move from Dynamo Kiev to West Bromwich Albion.

Ideye had been at the center of a move to England for about six weeks with Stoke City and West Ham United linked with him but eventually crossed over to the midlands on Friday.

Shortly after confirming the deal on the club’s website, Ideye told naijafootball247.com that he is still in shock because he had always wanted a move to England and never thought it would come this way.

“The truth is that I am short of words right now and I’m still in shock and find it difficult to believe I made this move eventually.

“I’m also happy that this move came through eventually because things were a bit difficult getting my former club to let me go,” Ideye told naijafootball.com.

“It even sounds better for me because I was dropped from Nigeria’s team to the last World Cup and I continued to tell myself that I had to work hard for my career.

“I didn’t just work hard, I believed in myself and I must say I am very excited. It’s really a dream come true for me,” Ideye said.

“I will give my best in every game I play for the club and leave the fans with stuff to dream off every time I play for the club.”

The ten million pounds, West Bromwich Albion paid for Ideye is a club record, eclipsing the six million they paid for Sessegnon a few years back.

His strike ratio at Dynamo Kiev was a goal every 168 minutes and he scored 45 goals in 107 appearances for Dynamo Kiev.

He signed a three year deal at West Bromwich Albion
