Dolphins grab former Senegal captain

Former Captain of Senegal’s U23 national team, Xavier Mendy has signed a one year deal with Dolphins.

Mendy who last played for ASFA Yennega of Burkina Faso told naijafootball247.com that he is in Port Harcourt to win the league.

“I always win wherever I go and Dolphins will not be different,” Mendy said.

“I see Dolphins as a great side that always want to win and that is why I am here,” Mendy told naijafootball247.com.

Mendy did not just play for Senegal’s U23 team from 2005- 2007, he also captained the team.

“Yes, I captained Senegal’s team and I want to do enough for Dolphins to get a recall to my country’s national team.

“I also want to play in Europe and I want to use Dolphins as a spring board to move.”

Dolphins also have on their books this season, other foreign players like Ivorien born, Alhassne Dosso and Togolese Joseph Douhadji.

Douhadji has been with Dolphins for two seasons now while Dosso won two FA Cups with Dolphins in 2006 and 2007 before moving to the Norwegian League.
