Gambo Mohammed wants Super Eagles shot

Kano Pillars' Gambo Mohammed
Kano Pillars striker, Gambo Mohammed says he wants another chance with the World Cup bound Super Eagles team.

Mohammed was part of Nigeria’s Confederation Cup team and will best be remembered for the begging chance he fluffed against Spain.

However, he told that those things happen in football and he should not be crucified for it.

“Every striker misses goals so mine should not bring a different reaction,” Gambo said.

“I do not see why I should be criticized the way I have been because of that miss. People should just let it go and let us move on in life.

The Kano Pillars striker continued that he still deserves a chance in the Super Eagles team for the World Cup next year.

“I’m in camp with the Home Based Super Eagles preparing for the CHAN but I believe I still deserve a place with the World Cup bound Super Eagles as soon as that camp opens.

“Every player should be given a chance to play for the national team. I got my chance and I do not believe that one miss against Spain should knock me out of the national team,” Mohammed said.

Gambo has had only one cap for the Super Eagles but between 2006 and 2013 has played 163 times for Kano Pillars, scoring 77 goals.

He has won the Nigerian League twice in 2008 and 2012 and the Nigerian Super Cup in 2012.
