Rueben is back and better

Kilmarnock midfielder, Gabriel Rueben says he is back and better to reclaim his place in the Super Eagles.

Rueben told that the time he spent out of the team was a sad one but he wants fans to expect the best.

"It's all about victory, especially on Saturday against Ethiopia but fans should expect the best from me even though it depends on the coach to field who he wants," Rueben said.

After being out for close to one year, the former Kano Pillars man is not bothered he may have lost his starting place to some other player.

"It won't be difficult for me to break into the team. It is football and everyone has his role to play and once again it depends on the coach to pick who he wants," he said.

In Rueben's absence, Keshi tried out Fengor Ogude and Obiora Nwankwo in Central midfield.

The coach also tried Henry Uche of Enyimba before the coach eventually settled for John Mikel Obi and Ogenyi Onazi.

Gabriel Rueben was described by a certain Nigerian pundit as a Patrick Vieira with more speed and was set to be a revelation at the AFCON before injury cut him down.

He was outstanding in training Friday when the Eagles had their final work out and Keshi also spoke well of him when he said Rueben and Omeruo, both of whom were out injured for a while had picked up well since they rejoined the team.
