Guinness flies with the Super Eagles

Official beverage sponsors of the Super Eagles, Guinness Nigeria PLC on Tuesday in Port Harcourt launched a campaign of support for the Nigerian national team.

Marketing manager of the Guinness brand, Obinna Anyabelechi (In pic below) told naijafootball247.com that their action was a continued show of solidarity to the national team and to sensitize the ever critical Nigerian public to the fact that the Eagles are campaigning in Africa’s biggest football fiesta.

“We are beverage sponsors and we will continue to do our best to make sure the Eagles get as much support as possible.

“Of course you already know of our existing promotion where we are taking two hundred football fans to South Africa to watch the Cup of Nations.

“We are also taking five members of the sporting press and all this is to drum up support for the Eagles,” Anyabelechi said.

Another highlight of the occasion was the signing of good will messages on the biggest football jersey ever made.

An extra-large Super Eagles jersey (In pic below), the size of a standard football pitch was on display and fans of the team signed goodwill messages all over it.

This segment was led by ex-internationals based in Port Harcourt like David Ngodingha, Victor Ezeji, Mobi Oparaku and Binebi Numa.

Anyabelechi added that Guinness is committed to development and will always do its bit to encourage the national teams especially the Super Eagles in competitions like this.

“We want to see how many signatures we can gather here in Port Harcourt and that is why we are encouraging fans in schools, at work and even in the beer parlours to come to the stadium and sign on this jersey.”

Port Harcourt based sports writers were also on hand to sign on the Super Eagles jersey.
