According to Kpalukwu the current Sharks team have what it takes to win the two trophies and that is what they expect from the new man at the help.

Eguavoen on his part said the target is achievable.

“We can achieve League and Cup double. We just need support from all concerned and why not? The former Enyimba coach said.

Sharks were last season enmeshed in a scandal where about 17 players and coaches were suspended for anti club activities but the new coach insists that his attraction to the club goes beyond the negatives.

“Sharks is a good side and that is what attracted me to them. They play very good football but have always lacked a winning mentality,” Eguavoen said.

“I am not here to change much. I am here to do my best to instill that winning mentality.”

As a player, Eguavoen featured for ACB, Gent, K.V. Kortrijk, CD Ourense, K.V. Kortrijk, Sacramento Scorpions, Torpedo Moscow and Sliema Wanderers while as a coach he has coached Nigeria’s U17 team to the World Cup in 2003, The Super Eagles to win the Africa Cup of Nations bronze in 2006 and the Nigerian U23 team.

At club side level Sliema Wanderers, Bendel Insurance, Black Leopards and Enyimba

He won the Federation Cup with Enyimba in 2009.

He was unveiled on Saturday alongside other members of the new Sharks Technical crew
