Liberia was easy, says Igiebor

Super Eagles midfielder, Nosa Igiebor says the Liberian national team was easy to handle last weekend in the final 2013 African Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifier in Calabar.
Nigeria’s Super Eagles beat Liberia’s Lone Star 6-1 in Calabar to qualify on 8-3 aggregate and the Real Betis player says they didn’t break much sweat to win.

“People sort of panicked after the 2-2 draw in Liberia but it is good to inform Nigerians that the pitch in Monrovia was not too good and they also tried to play some tricks,” Igiebor said.

“But when we came to Calabar it was a much better pitch and you could see that the Liberians were really weak and it was a very easy game for us.

“I knew we were going to win from the start but I couldn’t have predicted that we would score six, but when the game started and we got the second goal it was easy to see that we could have scored six or seven in the game,” he said.

Igiebor made his Super Eagles debut against Liberia in Monrovia scoring in that game.

The game in Calabar against the Liberians was his second appearance for the Nigerian national team.
