Akpeyi set to dump Heartland



Heartland’s 1st choice goalkeeper, Dan Akpeyi says he is looking at leaving the club for greener pastures in the new season.

Akpeyi who helped Heartland to their 2nd Federation Cup win in two years now says he is fed up with life at the champions.

“I don’t think I want to be with Heartland for the next season. I have paid my dues and though it is a decision hard for me to make I know I have to move forward,” Akpeyi said.

“I have to look for a better side because I am really not comfortable where I am.”

Twenty six year old Daniel Akpeyi started his club career with Gabros in 2004 and then moved to Nasarawa United in 2007.

He joined Heartland in 2010

He was a member of the Nigeria national under-20 football team at 2005 FIFA World Youth Championship in Netherlands and was part of the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games football team.
