Eagles depart on Friday


Nigeria’s Super Eagles will leave for Monrovia on Friday’s for the 1st leg of their final AFCON 2013 qualifying match against the Lone Stars of Liberia.

General Secretary of the Nigeria Football Federation, Musa Ahmadu says the idea is to leave in good time so as to get to Liberia by noon

“It’s a couple of hours from Abuja to Monrovia and we hope to leave in good time to arrive in Liberia before noon so they can have lunch and train on the same day,” Ahmadu said

“We also want to see that we depart back to Abuja on Saturday after the match so everything has been put in place.”

The Super Eagles who missed out on the last AFCON in 2012 have in camp for at least three weeks with players from Nigerian League clubs and were buoyed by their foreign based counterparts who joined up with the team between Sunday and Tuesday.
