Iorfa eye League trophy

Lobi Stars vice-chairman and coach, Dominic Iorfa says his side is now set to win the Nigeria Premier League.

Speaking on the back drop of the team’s astonishing form in the last five games that have seen them move to 2nd place on the Nigeria Premier League table, Iorfa told that Lobi Stars will be crowned League champions at the end of the season.

“Every one tipped Rangers or Kano Pillars. They didn’t give us a chance, they didn’t believe we will be where we are now.

“If you ask me, we are the best team in the country now and that is why we are in the semi final of the FA Cup and also in contention for the league title and I am optimistic,” Iorfa said.

“We play so well, pass the ball well and even our last game in the league when we defeated Dolphins 2-0 is testament to that. How many teams can go to Port Harcourt and beat Dolphins 2-0?

Lobi Stars hit a savoury patch in the Nigerian League winning 6 straight games against Dolphins, Niger Tornadoes, Sunshine Stars, Enyimba, Sharks and Gombe United.

The last time Lobi Stars lost a league game was on the 10th of June, a 1-0 loss to Shooting Stars in Ibadan

This form moved the team from mid-table to 2nd place.
