Heartland proud of new coach

General Manager of Premier League side, Heartland, Fan Ndubuoke says the appointment of Ndubuisi Nduka (In pic)is a wise one.

Ndubuoke added that the club is not missing the services of erstwhile Dutch coach Lodewick De Kruif.

“Nduka is not a new person at Heartland. He has been chief coach here before. He has also been chief coach at Sharks and Dolphins as well as Technical Adviser at Plateau United so he is not new in the role to Nigerian football,” Ndubuoke said.

He however stressed that Nduka is was not hired as a replacement for the Dutch man as is widely speculated in the media.

“Before now we did not have a chief coach and that is why we brought him in. When the white man returns, he resumes his position as Technical Adviser.

“We didn’t bring Nduka to replace the white man. The white man is aware that he is here and when he returns he resumes his position,” Ndubuoke said.

Following their one nil defeat of Rangers International last weekend, Ndubuoke disclosed that the Owerri outfit is still in contention for a continental ticket.

Heartland is on the 9th spot on the NPL log with two outstanding games and six points behind league leaders Rangers International.

Heartland play away to ABS FC on Thursday in the rescheduled week 24 matches of the NPL.
