Ezeji, Austin win awards


Sharks attacker, Victor Ezeji (In pic)has been named Most Valuable Player for Sharks for the year 2011.

Ezeji was named at the end of year dinner of a Port Harcourt based group, the League of Sports Writers on Tuesday, December 20, 2011at the M-Lounge complex at GRA in Port Harcourt.

Dolphins central defender, Festus Austin was also named Most Valuable Player for Dolphins for the year.

Stella Mbachu of Rivers Angels received the award also for her contribution to Rivers Angels in 2011.

Ogar Odaudu of Royal Hoopers Basketball Club of Port Harcourt was named coach of the year for guiding Royal Hoopers to winning the Nigeria Basketball League this year after finishing second last year.

In the media category, Cool FM Port Harcourt was named as the best sports radio station in Port Harcourt.

African Independent Television AIT, Sports Television of the year while the Tide Newspapers was adjudged the Best Sports Paper of the year.

These announcements came at the annual end of year celebration of the League of Sports Writers at the M Lounge complex in Port Harcourt.

The awards will be presented at a ceremony early next year.
