National U-23 coach, Austin Eguavoen has started his count down to the 16th; the day he is expected to submit to the confederation of Africa Football, CAF, the final 21 man list that would fly the country’s flag at the forthcoming U-23 Africa championship.

The former Eagles captain at the weekend dropped six players from his list of 26 that made it to Ghana from Nigeria just as three foreign based players hit camp.

Top on the list of those sent back home from Ghana is Enyimba of Aba Midfielder Eneji Otekpa who suffered a relapse of a groin injury sustain while in action for the Aba Elephants in the semi final of the CAF champions league.

Others are Vietnam-based, Ganiu Oseni, Semiu Liadi (Bukola Babes) Ovoke Bernard (Bendel Insurance) Bunde Hungwa (Lobi stars) and Usman Amoda.

All six players left the Lizzy sports complex camp of the team on Monday.

Meanwhile three of the 16 invited foreign-based players, Olaitan Otubanjo, Stephen Wrogu and Terna Suswam joined the team at the weekend.

Team Captain Haruna Lukman(In pic), Nnamdi Oduamdi, Babatunde Micheal, Uchechi Daniel, Obiora Nwankwo and Lawal Raheem are expected this week.
