Nigeria's U23s arrive in Morocco for Olympic qualifiers

Nigeria National U-23 side arrived in Casablanca, Morocco at 10.30am Moroccan time on Saturday for the acclimatization phase of the team’s preparation for the forthcoming Africa U-23 championship.

The team got a feel of what the weather would look like in its next three weeks stay in Morocco, upon arrival at the Muhammed the first international airport, Casablanca as the maximum temperature was put at 16 degrees Celsius with heavy showers.
The team engaged in another 25 minutes drive from the airport, to its Hotel Anfa Port camp where they will be for the next five days.

The coach Austin Eguavoen tutored side departed the Muritala Mohammed international airport, Lagos at 7.25am in Royal air Maroc, with a 29 man contingent comprised of 18 players and 11 officials.

Only one player from the list of standby earlier released traveled with the team, (Atu Irumekhai) while the other four were asked to remain in the country until deemed fit to join the team in Morocco.

Players expected to join the team in Morocco are; Obiora Nwankwo, Babatunde Micheal, Stephen Worgu and Nosa Igiebor.

They begin their Africa U-23 championship campaign next Saturday against host nation Morocco.
