Babatunde explains presence in Morocco with U23s

Krybas of Ukraine player, Babatunde Micheal says he is in morocco to serve Nigeria despite the fact that his club did not want him to leave.

Nigeria’s U23s start their qualifying campaign for the 2012 Olympic Games against Morocco on Saturday and Babatunde says he just had to be with the U23s.

“My club wanted me to stay back and play the game against Shakhtar Donetsk as well as two other games but I also had to join the team and that is why I’m here with my colleague,” Babatunde said.

“I am very happy to join my colleagues. I need to shake off the fatigue from the trip, so I can get down to full business with the team,” he stated.

“I need to serve my country; I need to prove myself as a player for the national team and one way I can do it is by playing in the Olympic Games qualifiers and then the Olympic Games proper.”
