Eguavoen who is head coach of Nigeria’s U23 side was in charge of the Super Eagles when they lost 1-0 to Guinea in the early stages of the qualifiers.

“I have no doubt what so ever that Nigeria would qualify ahead of Guinea. We have the players, the experience and the quality to go past the Guineans on Saturday. The players and every Nigerian following football today knows the importance of this game and I trust that the present crop of players in the Eagles can deliver.”

Eguavoen left the Olympic team camp in Ibadan on Friday to Abuja to support the Eagles in the must win game against the Syli Stars

He is also expected to accompany the Eagles to London from where he would proceed on his European tour to cement agreement with club technical directors over the release of players for the upcoming CAF U-23 Africa championship which serves as the final qualifying Phase for the London 2012 Olympic Games.

Nigeria is in group B of the Eight Nation championship alongside Morocco, Algeria and Senegal.

Nigeria will begin its campaign in the qualifiers against Morocco on November 27.
