Eagles never comfortable on the road, says Taiwo

Nigeria’s national team left full back, Taye Taiwo has revealed that the national team are never comfortable when they play on the road in Africa.

Taye Taiwo told naijafootball247.com that it is one aspect he wants the administrators of the game to look into if the country must post better results in future qualifying games.

“We feel comfortable when we play at home but away is terrible and I will give an example in the game against Guinea in Conakry.

“Can you imagine that it was bread we bought in Nigeria that the players ate there?
You can imagine us sleeping on bread and chicken and then playing a game the next day.

“It is important we sort this out but people may hear this and say we are professionals so we have to adapt.

“These things we call little things affect us some way or the other. Sometimes we go to a hotel which is really bad and we just take it like that because we have no option.

“I know people will say I am just saying this to defend myself and the players for some bad performances in the past but that is simply the truth.

“We always do our best whenever we play for the country. That is how we have always been.”
