Events Diary International partners with 1 GAME

President of South Africa based Event Dairy International, Jones Anozie says 1 GAME is a unique venture that will indeed change the face of football in Nigeria and the society in general if given the right support.

The Nigerian born events publicist hosted the 1 GAME team in Calabar on Sunday and said the fight against football violence can be won but requires the support of all stakeholders, particularly the local and international media.

“This (football violence) is an issue we must not overlook. The focus of many youths in now on football. It is a game that unites us and it is fun to watch as well. But it is worrisome that in this part of the world, it is difficult to make distinctions between fairplay and violence in the game.

“It is not something we want to see continue and I believe that majority of football stakeholders and followers are not pleased with the trend as well. But it is not just about saying it, we must be able to act to end it. This requires the synergy of policy makers, non governmental agencies, international agencies and the civil society.

“All stakeholders in the business particularly the local and international media must play their part, and I’m happy to say right here that Events Diary International with a passion for promoting very unique continental activities will collaborate with 1 GAME to highlight the goals of achieving football without violence,” he said.

Since its creation in June 2010, 1 GAME has had the recognition of numerous bodies associated with football and the media and the support Events Diary International promises is one that excites founder Philip Obaji.

“We are glad to have the recognition of such a noble body and we believe we can work together to make football and the society better,” Obaji said.
