Ehiosun gets the plaudits

Former Warri Wolves head coach, Lawrence Akpokona says he believes Ekigho Ehiosun will lead Nigeria’s attack at the 2014 World Cup in Brazil if the country qualifies.

Akpokona who coached Ehiosun at Warri Wolves two seasons ago told naijafootball247.com that Ehiosun has the kind of quality that will take him to the top of the game.

“I was with him at Warri Wolves and I’m happy the national team selectors have seen his quality and gave him a chance,” Akpokona said.

“I am also happy that he did not disappoint when he got the chance to play for the country.

“I know he has not reached his peak yet; in fact I know he has not even shown half of what he has in him and he only has to keep his head so he can reach his full potentials.”

Akpokona says he strongly believes Ehiosun will get better because his brand of football is something the country will benefit from in the long run.

“He is strong, fast and is good on and off the ball. He also shoots well and scores as frequently as he assists. I wish him the best because I know he will go all the way to the top,” Akpokona said.

Ehiosun started with Delta United in the Nigerian lower division in 2008 and then moved to Warri Wolves where he played until July 2011 when he joined Samsunspor in Turkey.

He plays for both the Nigerian national team, the Super Eagles and the Olympic football team, the U23s
