Crown dominate NPL Team of the Week

Relegation-threatened side, Crown FC, surprisingly led the number of personnel in the Team of the Week for Matchday 27.
According to the team announced by the Nigeria Premier League (NPL) on Tuesday, Crown got three slots ahead of illustrious sides like Enyimba, Enugu Rangers, Sharks, Kano Pillars and Warri Wolves.
Crown's Godfrey Esu is named coach of the week alongside Michael Uweru and Gabriel Agu who fill the roles of goalkeeper and centre forward respectively.
Enugu Rangers and Enyimba produce two players each.
James Okwuosa and Uche Nwofor come from Rangers while Enyimba have Samuel Tswanya and Uche Kalu in the team.
Others in the side are ThankGod Ike (Warri Wolves), Bassey Ezekiel (Lobi Stars), Stanley Okoronkwo (Sharks), Timothy Ndubuisi (Zamfara United) and Victor Namo (Kano Pillars).
The team will adopt a 4-3-3 formation.

How they made the team
Goalkeeper Michael Uweru (Crown)
He is making his second appearance in the team. Uweru put up a fine display to give Crown a clean sheet at Juth, where they won 1-0.

Right-back Samuel Tswanya (Enyimba)
In the past weeks, the ex-Niger Tornadoes man has remained consistent. Against Plateau United Tswanya steps up his game and capped it with a 30-yard free kick.

Centre-back James Okwuosa (Enugu Rangers)
Okwuosa was one of the reasons that Rangers left Abeokuta victors over 3SC last Sunday. His defensive skills punctured some of 3SC's attacking forays.

Centre-back ThankGod Ike (Warri Wolves)
The former Heartland defender was massive in the heart of defence for Wolves in their 1-1 draw against Ocean Boys on Sunday at the Samson Siasia Stadium in Yenagoa.

Left-back Bassey Ezekiel (Lobi Stars)
The one-time Under23 invitee has been the number one option at left-back for Lobi this season. His game against Kwara United remains his best display so far this term and that's why he has been named in the team this week.

Central midfielder Stanley Okoronkwo (Sharks)
He's a natural left-sided midfielder but on the back of his performance in Ilorin at the weekend against Bukola Babes, Okoronkwo claims the role to play in the middle of the park.

Right midfielder Timothy Ndubuisi (Zamfara United)
Ndubuisi slots into the right side of midfield after back-to-back performances including his goal-scoring appearance against Gombe United on Sunday.

Left midfielder Victor Namo (Kano Pillars)
The former Mighty Jets player wreaked Heartland with his mazy runs and double strike in Kano Pillars' 3-0 win. He claims the left side of midfield.

Right forward Uche Nwofor (Enugu Rangers)
Free-scoring Nwofor gave 3SC trouble all afternoon on Sunday and got the goal. That's why he's in the team this week.

Centre forward Gabriel Agu (Crown)
Agu got the best chance of the game against Juth and punished them. He has been in superb form lately for the Ajilete Valiant and will lead the three-man attack of this team.

Left forward Uche Kalu (Enyimba)
He has been able to shake off an injury that threatened his career two seasons ago to become one of Enyimba's top marksmen. He showed glimpse of a true finisher by punishing Plateau United and has been named at left side of the attack.

Coach: Godfrey Esu (Crown)
Esu beats Rangers manager, Alphonsus Dike, to the coach of the week though both of them guided their teams to away wins with similar scoreline.
