Etafia lifts Flying Eagles

Moroka Swallows Nigerian goalkeeper Greg Etafia visited camp of Nigeria’s U20 team, the Flying Eagles on Sunday ahead of their opening game at the African Youth Championship in South Africa.

Etafia donated hand gloves to the three goalkeepers with the Under-20 team and also gave them a pep talk at the team’s Garden Court Hotel in Kempton Park.

“We thank God for the heart that gave these kits to our team. We have so many players around the world, but how many have come around this team during our training tours of Turkey, Libya and Dubai?”coach of the side, John Obuh.

“I expect my players to do the same for other players when it is their time to do so.”

He added: “I have known Greg since his Under-17 days and he is a hard working and disciplined player. I expect my goalkeepers to follow his great example.”

Former Eagles spokesman Idah Peterside and top football scout Lawal Mohammed, who are both based in South Africa, have also followed the Flying Eagles training in Johannesburg.
