I won’t be pressured- Siasia

Ahead of Sunday’s 2012 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying match between Nigeria and Ethiopia, Samson Siasia (Picture)says he is not under pressure to perform.

Siasia who is head coach of Nigeria’s Men National Team will have his first competitive game in charge this Sunday after majority of the country’s sports population clamoured for his appointment.

“I know Nigerians wanted me to be coach. In fact most of them did and they will all be watching to see how I do in my first real match in charge but the truth is that I am not under any pressure to deliver a good result to them,” Siasia told naijafootball247.com.

“It’s amazing because I know expectations are high but I am not feeling any pressure at all. That’s because I have so much confidence in what I can do and there is no atom of fear at all in me.

“I know it is a very difficult job and Nigerians have always wanted change and I know I can give that change in the way we play, players in the team but most of all having the right players in the right position so fans can know I am really the one supposed to be in this team,” he said.

Siasia says he cannot tell from now who will play on Sunday but he will surely use the best.
“We really do not have time to work with the boys especially on fitness and physical activities before Sunday’s game and that is why we invited players based on how regularly they play for their clubs both in Europe and Nigeria.

“A total change is not possible from the beginning but Nigerians will see what we have done on Sunday, March 27.”
