Bukola Babes want death penalty for referee

New comers in the Nigeria Premier League, Bukola Babes say they want the death penalty for FIFA badged referee, Sanni Mohammed after his performance in last Sunday's Nigeria Premier Leagueb match against Sunshine Stars.

They also say they may pull out of the League if drastic actions are not taken.

Team Manager of the club, Alloy Chukwuemeka told naijafootball247.com that their encounter at the Gateway Stadium, Abeokuta against Sunshine clearly showed that the Nigeria Premier League title goes to the highest bidder.

Chukwuemeka said it was day light robbery against Sunshine Stars and went on to explain why they are considering pulling out of the League.

“I see this as the worst officiating so far in the League this season courtesy of FIFA referee, Sanni Mohammed from Kaduna and it seemed like an arranged hatchet job as the referee determined in his heart that he must work for his pay.

“He manufactured two penalties for Sunshine Stars and packaged a red card for our striker, Kadir Aminu to reduce the pressure on the home team,” Chukwuemeka said.

“We are considering pulling out of the League if the NPL do not take action on this matter because that game is a big shame for the Nigerian League which has experienced more sanity in recent times.

“The referee was a kill joy and he deserves the death penalty because he has killed our game,” the Team Manager said angrily.

A staff at the NPL secretariat who spoke with naijafootball247.com under the condition of anonymity said they had received several complaints about Sunshine Stars but their hands are tied and can do little or nothing about it.

“You know of all the problems at the NPL. There is no chairman and we have little funds so we cannot do much about monitoring these games and that is a big issue,” our source said.

“Personally, I have received a lot of complaints from visiting teams after games against Sunshine but maybe when the League resumes for the second stage we will checkmate some of them.”

He however added that these things can only be checkmated if the League gets a title sponsor and a chairman.

Head coach of Sunshine Stars, Gbenga Ogunbote could not be reached as his two phones were turned off.
