Two sides, Dolphins and Warri Wolves, took charge of mentions in the team of the eeek for matchday four of the Nigeria Premier League (NPL).

Both clubs provided three names apiece in the team of the week released by the Premier League on Wednesday.

The award panel of the NPL took into cognizance the unbeaten run of Wolves as well as the return of Dolphins to the summit of the Premier League log in naming the team and manager.

Wolves’ head coach, Paul Aigbogun, was given the mantle of coach of the week for ensuring that his side conquered Jos University Teaching Hospital (Juth) Football Club at the Rwang Pam Stadium last Sunday.

The win for Wolves was the only away triumph of Week 4 in the top-flight.

Goalkeeper Chigozie Agbim of Warri Wolves followed in the footsteps of his coach by claiming the number one position in the team ahead of his counterpart from Shooting Stars Sports Club (3SC), Laide Okanlawon.

However, it was Dolphins that claimed three places in the defence with Uche Oguchi, Kennedy Chinwo and Emma Godwin named alongside Wolves’ strongman, Ike ThankGod.

The trio of Cletus Itodo of Sunshine Stars, Gabriel Reuben of Kano Pillars and Ikechukwu Ibenegbu of Heartland form a three-man midfield.

Scorer of Kano Pillars’ winning goal against Shooting Stars, Joseph Thompson, takes his place behind the attacking duo of Ukeyima Akombo of Sunshine Stars and Osas Okoro of Heartland to complete the team of the week.

Two players, Akombo and ThankGod, are making the Team of the Week for the second time this season.

The NPL is expected to name the Player and Coach of the Month for November in a matter days.
