Olaniyi not amputated- Plateau coach

Plateau United’s head coach, Ndubuisi Nduka has denied reports making the rounds that midfielder; Olayinka Olaniyi had his leg amputated during surgery at the Bingham University Teaching Hospital in Jos.

Olaniyi was caught up in the Christmas eve bomb blasts in Jos last week and had a fractured in his leg while suffering injuries to the left part of his face.

Nduka told naijafootball247.com that he had not been amputated even though he would be out for a very long time.

“The surgery was successful and I hear he will begin rehabilitation in 8 weeks when the physiotherapist starts working with him,” Nduka said.

“I also cannot tell for how long he will be out. You know people are different and some might make quick recoveries while other would not so we can only pray and hop for the best.”

Four days ago, the Nigeria Premier League board announced that they would pay a visit to the injured midfielder but it is not clear if the visit held as scheduled with the recent changes in leadership of the board.
