Gombe, Zamfara, Shooting get stadium warnings

Three Nigeria Premier League clubs, Gombe United, Zamfara United and Shooting Stars have been warned that they may not play games at their home grounds this season.

The Nigerian League kicks off on Saturday, November 6, 2010, but those venues are on the watch list and have been given up to Wednesday, November3 at noon to inform the Nigeria Premier League secretariat on their readiness and inspection or else another venue will be picked for them.

Meanwhile, only Offa Township Stadium and Maman Kontagora Stadium, Minna have been given
provisional certification as Gombe Utd FC, Zamfara Utd FC and 3SC are on readiness watch list for inspection of Wednesday 11th November, 2010.

All other stadia passed the readiness test for the new season with criteria including quality of playing turf, television friendliness and dressing room needing to be up to scratch.

 The 2010/2011 League season kicks off this weekend with the Kaduna Utd FC and Kano Pillars FC match in Kaduna as Star Match on Saturday 6th November, 2010.

Other matches will take place at various designated and approved venues / centers.

Consequently, only weekend matches will be played for now until title sponsorship is secured
