Yobo wants NFF to sort out mess

Super Eagles captain, Joseph Yobo wants the Nigeria Football Federation, NFF to sort out the mess that has slowed down football in the country.

After Sunday’s 1-0 loss to Guinea in an Africa Cup of Nations qualifying match, Yobo said though the players had their part in the blame, the NFF must make playing for the country conducive.

“People wonder if the events of last week affected us as if we are not human beings. Well it did and we call on the NFF to put their house in order so when we come to play we can be focussed on just the game at hand.

“The status of Nigeria as a FIFA member must be sorted, the coaching situation must be sorted and the players must also sort out ourselves too.

“A lot of things went wrong before the game but we are professionals and we must stay focused but sometimes training under uncertainty can affect your output a lot,” Yobo said.

He added that the Eagles missed some key players in the game.

“Of course we missed Osaze, Mikel and Etuhu. No disrespect to those that played but these three are about the most experienced players we have now.

“It must be like for like. If Yobo is not available, then someone as good as Yobo must play; the same with another player who is missing from the team and then that we must understand that we only lost 1-0 and we should not start panicking just yet.

“I also wish Dan (Shittu) gets a club soon so he can get back into the team.”

  1. Yes tell them Yobo. And while you're at it please tell our political leaders to sort out the mess called Nigeria also.
