Kenya open camp for Eagles

Kenya’s senior national football team, the Harambee Stars opened camp on Sunday ahead of next months final 2010 World Cup qualifying match against Nigeria’s Green Eagles.

Reports from Kenya indicate that fifteen players trained on Monday, in their first session while about four foreign based players are expected in camp on Wednesday.

The match is a must win for the Kenyans who hope to sneak into the Cup of Nations in Angola next year if Mozambique lose to Tunisia on the same day.

Nigeria also need to win against Kenya and hope that Tunisia fail to win against Mozambique if the Eagles must play at the World Cup next year.

The Nigerian coach Shaibu Amodu proposed a camp in Ethiopia before the game but feelers from Abuja say the team might camp in Nigeria’s capital before going to Kenya for the match.
